Composition of the Steering Committee

 

The Steering Committee of the Professional Brand Contest is formed every year by chief contest organizers at the time of the contest. The Steering Committee is intended to provide organizational, consulting and information support of the contest.  It can host both representatives of separate organizations and entire organizations. Organizations which decided to participate in the Contest professional nominations must exclude their representatives form the Steering Committee within three days upon making such decision.

 

Functions and duties of the Steering Committee

 

The Steering Committee adopts all decisions by common consent or by open voting.   The Steering Committee of the National Contest THE BRAND OF THE YEAR exercises the following functions:

 

1. Planning and approval of:

 

-      Contest nominations;

-      commodity groups accepted to participate in contest consumer nominations;

-      terms of the Contest, i.e. collection of standard application forms, deadlines for application, time of polling;

-      terms and criteria of participants' evaluation in professional and consumer nominations;

-      questionnaires for national polling within Contest consumer nominations;

-      International Jury composition;

-      time of Final Ceremony.

 

2. Information support of the Contest:

 

-      communicating with mass media (interviews, comments, articles);

-      work on attraction of sponsorship;

-      the Contest advertising support;

-      attraction of participants.

 

 3. Organizational support of the Contest:

 

Involvement in arrangement and execution of the Contest events: press conferences, round tables, briefings, operation of the International Jury, the Final Ceremony.

 

Procedure of judging rules approval and the International Jury formation

 

The Contest nominations, judging rules and jury composition are developed and approved by the Contest Steering Committee. The Steering Committee is formed on quota basis: 

 

-      30% — home and foreign scientists-experts-makers;

-      30% — managers of Belarusian top trade marks;

-      40% — representatives of leading advertising agencies and creative studios

 

Steering Committee members» rights

 

-                     Contest organizers ensure openness and availability of the information on the Steering Committee members which is provided on Contest website www.bestbrand.by and in all news materials, support Steering Committee members' image as being opinion leaders.   

-                     Steering Committee members can participate in all Contest events except for the School of Brand Management.

-                     Steering Committee members are entitled to make independent comments in mass media, to give interview on condition that their speech is of positive nature and supports Contest prestige.

-                     The members can nominate candidates to the International Jury, as well as suggest their own perception of Contest terms to be approved by the Steering Committee.

 

COMPANIES ALLOWED TO PARTICIPATE IN THE CONTEST

-      The Steering Committee invites to participate in the Professional and Consumer Nominations the international brands existing on the territory of Belarus and domestic brands existing both within the country and abroad.

-      Irrespective of whether the application form to participate in the Consumer Nominations has been submitted, brands named top on the national poll results can be elected the winners.

 

OPPORTUNITIES FOR PARTICIPANTS AND WINNERS 

The winners of the Contest gain the exclusive right to use the logo and the medal on all commercial samples within the year. All Contest attributes are registered trade marks.
Additional massive advertising and promotion of brand image.
• All the participants have an official access to the results of trade marks preference within their commodity group.  The results are presented as an analytical review and professional advice depending on the region, and differentiation of consumers» social features.
• Experts evaluate brand»s strengths and weaknesses, its development prospects. The participants are consulted by specialists, members of the jury
• The Competitors are provided with  exclusive conditions of participation in all the events within the framework of THE BRAND OF THE YEAR

• The Steering Committee provides individual consultation at the package development stage.
