Steering committee statute

The Steering Committee of the National Contest BRAND of the year is convoked annually on the initiative of the Contest main organizers for the Contest period. The purposes of the Steering Committee are organizational, consulting and information support of the Contest.

Contest organizers

The list of the Contest organizers can change in conformity of the real participation in its arrangement. The organizers of the National Contest BRAND’04 are: Centre of system business technologies Satio, Ministry of economy of the Republic of Belarus, Laboratory NOVAK, National Economy Journal and Trade Marks Expertise Department of the National Centre of Intellectual Property of the Republic of Belarus

Steering Committee membership

Sttering Committee can include both bodies’ representatives and the organizations. Having decided to take part in the Contest professional nominations, the organizations have to remove their representatives form the Steering Committee within three days upon the decision’s pronouncement.

Steering Committee’s functions and obligations

All the Steering Committee’s decisions are taken by consensus procedure or by vote by show.

The Steering Committee of the National Contest BRAND of the year effectuates the following functions:

  1. Planning and approval of:
    • Contest nominations
    • Commodity groups admitted to participate in the consumer nominations. Professional nominations have no limitations on commodity groups
    • Contest regulations, namely the standard application forms collection, application deadline, social poll beginning and end dates,
    • Conditions and criteria for the participants’ evaluation in professional and consumer nominations
    • Questionnaires for the national social poll within the framework of the Contest consumer nominations
    • International Jury membership
    • Closing Ceremony date
  2. The Contest information support:
    • Work with mass-media (interviews, comments, publications)
    • Work to encourage sponsors’ support
    • The Contest advertisement support
    • Participants encouraging
  3. Consulting support to participants:
    • Consultations on the development of the brand presentation package
    • Consultations upon the Contest closing in order to clear the Jury’s opinion
  4. Organization support:
    • Taking part in arrangement of the Contest activities and actions: press-conferences, round tables, briefings, International Jury work, Closing Ceremony.
Steering Committee members' rights

The Contest organizers provide for transparency and availability of the information on the Steering Committee members on the Contest web-site http://www.bestbrand.by/ and in all information materials. They contribute to promotion of all the Steering Committee Members’ image as opinion leaders.

Steering Committee members can freely participate in all the Contest arrangements, at the exception of the Brand Management School.

Steering Committee members have the right to make comments and give interview to medias under the condition that the latter are of positive nature and contribute to the Contest authority.

The Members can suggest candidates for International Jury membership, and propose their view of the Contest regulations to be approved by the Steering Committee.
